If you like fine arts and are in Lisbon during the weekend of the 18th and 19th of May it will be a busy weekend for you. ARCOlisboa and JUSLX are annual art fairs which happen during this weekend. Also Gulbenkian will organize several art events and seminars.

But there is another very interesting event taking place. The faculty of fine arts of Lisbon opens its doors to all the visitors who wish to know more about the institution, its history, and all the art and design projects which are being developed by its students. (event)

During this event you will be able to visit all the studios and talk directly to the artists. Also there is the possibility of aquiring many of the works directly with them.  In GAB-A there is the opportunity to see everything which is connected to the process of painting, drawing, sculpture, design, audiovisual, restauration. There are several hundreds of students presenting their work, and also some alumni will be present. Aditionally, there are guided tours to some secluded areas of the faculty, wich belong to the ancient Monastery of São Francisco, and are only open for visits during this event.

So if you are around visiting art fairs in Lisbon, don't miss out on this one. I'ts an informal, diverse and rich event, were you will definitely find a connection to the works, people or atmosphere of this beautiful building in Chiado, right in the centre of Lisbon.
