The importance of connection

I'm writing this post from Castelo de Vide, while I participate at an arts festival/residency. One week past of walking through these streets, talking with the people and wandering on the countryside, and I start notiging, the colours of the fields, the smells get more accurate, I listen to the stories and legends of the place, the way people move and talk, and start feeling what it is about its identity and, something more, the connection to the land, the self-counciousness and the awareness everyone around us.
We need these moments of connection. The ones working in creative fields need it for boosting the creativity and for allowing the time to think. But all of us need it for our lives. Some people call it holidays but it's way more than that, It's about a state of mind, it's about the attention to the nuances, it's about stripping down our burdens, and paying attention, It's about learning how to see.
We are looking for this moment of connection. A very human, very inate connection, that we so often leave forgotten.
